The Perfume Pagoda
is one of the highlights of the Hanoi area and one of the most important religious sites in Buddhist Vietnam. Every spring, after the Vietnamese New Year
, thousands of Vietnamese pilgrims come here to pray for all the health and prosperity they need to get them through the year. The pagoda itself is built into limestone cliffs and can only be reached by boat and foot, as there are no roads into this area. You will glide along scenic waterways and walk up steep mountain paths visiting the pagodas and temples that were built in this area over the last centuries.

The journey to the Perfume Pagoda
will take about 2 hours as it winds through some countryside Vietnamese villages. On arrival, take a short walk through a beautiful area to Yen wharf to enjoy a rowing boat along Yen stream, passing by many Buddhist shrines and pagodas
on the way. Visit Trinh temple
and trek up to the "Huong Tich
" cave on the top of the mountain (Optional to take the cable car up/down mountain during high season to visit the main Huong Tich Pagoda
In the afternoon, we will take our time trekking down in time for lunch before enjoying some free leisure time around the Thien Tru Pagoda
. Feel free to do some shopping or simply take time to worship whilst in this special place.
